2-Day practical course to become a HoofBoot Farriers registered Scootboot fitter (RSF)

Day One

  1. Get to know the tools needed for the tasks.

  2. How to fit a scootboot, including client’s undertakings regarding maintaining a successful Scootboot fitting, including brake-over assessment, hoof landing, filming movement, measuring and sizing. 

  3. How to alter the brake-over on a boot

  4. How to stretch a boot

  5. Instructions on the responsibilities an RSF undertake including the negating of Scootboot warrantees having altered boots

  6. Instructions on how to compile a hoofboot presentation to clients including fitting and sizing forms.

Day Two

1) How to construct an internal/external wedge/padding etc.

2) study the different materials/glues etc.

3) How to weld the Scootboot material

4) How to put a grip into a sole pad etc..

5) How to replace/repair Scootboot parts

6) The commitment RSF’s make.

7) On completion of the course the Hoof Care Provider will be given their RSF certificate with their individual registration number plus relevant contacts for ongoing assistance.

It will be up to each RSF to request to be put on the Hoofboot Farriers register at a time to suit them.
